Hi there
I strongly believe in the lunar effect on fishing behaviour. Since I started to fish according to the Solunar time predictions my catch rate has much increased. Because it works so good for me I even decided to write some sofware to remind me of those days and times.

Hi Ryan, excellent question. The weather does play a factor when following this system. When the weather is clear the fishing will be much better than say if it is raining hard. Cloud cover does not usually affect this method much if fishing for Trout, but will affect the Walleye fishing some if usuing lures, it should not if you are using bait. The Walleye can smell the bait rather than having to see it. Wind direction or velosity does not seem to affect the Trout fishing but can sometimes lessen the Walleye bite a little bit. In saying that however, it can also be a help to the Walleye fishing, as it can stir up the water which can cause the bite to be greater. It really depends on the day Ryan. Some of my best days fishing for both Trout, and Walleye/Pike; have come when it is raining slightly, drizzling if you will. Nobody's around and the Trout seem to go crazy. Fish 2-4 feet off the bottom as the fish seem to stay deeper when it's raining out. Thanks for your question Ryan and I hope this will help. Mike.

Your observations about the lunar cycle are interesting. What have you noticed about weather patterns and wind directions are their effect on fishing?
