Hey Travis, how are you these day's? I am really not familiar with that section of the Bow River so I cannot really say for sure what is happening.

My guess is that there are just not many trout setting up shop in that section of the river at this time. I am sure later in the season, say late August through till October, you will start hooking into some Brown's during this time of year.

If there were fish holding in these spots you have described than the gear you are using would definitely catch them. as we both now this is good quality fishing tackle.

I do know the lower section of the Bow River is fishing awesome at this time. Maybe pack a sandwich and some Gatorade and take a drive to the lower stretch of the Bow River.

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by the Blog and ask a question, as you know all questions help other anglers succeed.

Hey Mike, been a long time since I commented on the site, great articles. I had a question for you, I know the south end of the bow is King, but I just moved near Edworthy and have hit it up a couple of times with little sucess. I have been using good gear: Panthers, Phoebe, Rooster's and the holes look nice, is this side of the city just really sparce for good fish? Any advice would be great.

Hi Moe, there are many places to fish the Bow. Glenmore Tr bridge is a good start. Upstream and downstream of this bridge can provide good fishing.

The Ivor Strong Bridge is another one of my personal favorites, good fishing can be found up river and down river from this spot. I usually fish the east bank of the river at this location. This bridge is located just south of Anderson and is built over the Bow River.

Fish creek park located in the south side of Deer Run is a great place to take the family out for a picnic and a day out on the water.

22x Bridge is another place to try, I walk along the bank here and try to intercept fish up and down the river bank.

I suggest using Google Earth or Google Maps to assist in directions to these locations and several other locations along the river. I use these tools to find prime locations all over Alberta. On Google Earth you can follow the river all along and see where you can park and fish.

Have a safe trip and hopefully you catch the big one!
