Hi,
I'm very new to fishing. In fact, I have never fish before and thinking of starting this weekend. I always loved watching people who are fishing and always wanted to but unfortunatelly i have never had to chance to do so.
I moved to Calgary couple of months ago and I was very happy to find out that we are allow to fish here.
Now, I'm going for fishing this weekend but i have nothing! :) and I have no idea what fishing rod, reel I should buy as I heard not all fishing rod is good for all type of fish and I think they will fine you if you use unappropiate fishing rod? So if I'm going to catch Trout(i think this is the only fish we can catch here) which fishing rod should i be buying/using? I can't buy expensive rod so if you could let me know a decent brand with reasonable priced rods that would be perfect. Thanks alot.

The water treatment plant spoken of in this article is 700 yards above the Deerfoot Bridge as you leave Calgary to Okotoks. You can park by the bridge and walk up or down the river here Jack. Nice little area to fish the Bow River.
I also have some openings in June if you are interested in a float trip. You will learn every good spot to fish along the river.
Thanks for the comment Jack,
~Mike

If anyone has a ban on lead sinkers this company sells baited lead free sinkers. These sinkers attract redfish, snook, speckled seatrout, grouper, snapper, mackerel, bluefish, or any saltwater as well as freshwater species running to grab your bait.
Coupon code for FeedingFrenzyChum.com SE9UFAXVH8DN gets you 15% off of your entire order!

Thanks Pat, I agree it was a fantastic day. By the way friends Pat got the "BIG FISH" prize of the day, there I mentioned that Pat. LOL. Very much looking forward to seeing you out again this spring, make sure you pump some weights cause you will need all that muscle to land these fish come June.
Have a great week Pat, we will be in touch with a report for you soon.
Cheers,
~Mike.

Mike,
Nice piece but words can't do the day justice. You forgot to mention I got the "big fish" prize. Can't wait to do it again after run-off.
