Gone Fishing- Lower Kananaskis Lake

At this point Kevin caught his first Bull Trout of the day on a green jig. I wasn’t having much luck but Kevin seemed to have the rite gear on. Not long after Kevin caught his first fish he had his second one on but this time the trout took him to the bottom into some dead wood and snapped him off which was to bad as it looked like a large fish. Oh well at least you had something on the end of your line Kevin. We then decided to take a drive to see if we could find Rusty’s cabin but to no avail. Kevin suggested we go to one of his honey hole’s to see if we could catch a big fat Bull Trout there. We got to his spot and it looked very promising so I threw on a Williams wobbler and gave it a try. Three casts later and I hear my name being called and it’s Russ, so we ended up packing up and going to Rusty’s cabin to pick up the boat.

That’s a really poor way to handle a bull trout. If everyone mugged for a photo like that with their fingers right in the gills there would be none left. There’s a reason the species is threatened. Chump.

  1. Yeah I agree, my friend Kevin should take some lessons from you. If they are free I will ask him to contact you through your e-mail address.

    Thanks,

    ~Mike.
