My Christmas Fishing Tackle Wish List For 2010

[kml_flashembed movie="http://www.youtube.com/v/5K85Ts6ZNko" width="425" height="344" allowfullscreen="true" fvars="fs=1" /]All I want for Christmas is my new fishing gear, my new fishing gear, my new fishing gear.

So have you been naughty or nice? Do you think Santa is going to come down your chimney with a bag full of new fishing lures and maybe a fishing rod to boot? And if he does come down your chimney what did you ask for? Here is one weapon on my list of fishing goodies I asked for this year.

For starters I am always on the look out for a new fishing rod. A fishing rod that is fairly inexpensive which possesses great sensitivity and durability. I like to buy a rod for around a hundred to a hundred and fifty dollars. So this year I asked Santa for a Carrot Stix rod. A what Stix you ask! Yes I said a Carrot Stix. Some of you may have already seen this fancy fish slaying machine and some of you may have not seen it.

The Carrot Stix hit the market a few years ago. The Carrot Stix fishing rods have gained popularity for being one of the lightest and most sensitive rods on the market today. With the new Carrot Stix WILD brand available just in time for the holidays, Santa will hopefully plant one of these babies under my tree. With the price tag at around 120.00, Carrot Stix rods are highly durable and come with a lifetime warranty. Here is the product information. A new value has sprouted in Carrot Stix’s impressive line of innovative rods. A full 5 grams of material has been engineered out of the rod’s tip to allow for more efficient casting, and smaller-diameter, low-framed Minima guides produce less line flutter and increase casting accuracy. A new rear grip shape allows for easier control of the rod, and increased density of nano-bio-fibers derived from carrots provide extra strength and increased surface durability. A gorgeous finish in vivid original Carrot Stix orange rounds out the package for an unbeatably versatile tool that’s made for your hands.

So that takes care of the new rod on my list. What shall we do about all the other goodies I asked Santa for? The next post will cover what kinds of lures and gear I asked for this year. Stay tuned for my 2010 Christmas wish list, you won’t want to miss a post!

Hey mike , what type of stix would you get? med lite, med heavy or what. for bow trout. I need a new rod and I see lots of pros using them, must be very sensitive.Merry xmas and I hope you get your wish list.

  1. Hey Ron, thanks for the question! The Carrot Stix I recently bought is a 6 foot 6 inch Two Piece, Medium Fast action spinning rod. I have read many reviews and most all of them say they are the best rod for the dollars. The Carrot Stix won the 2010 I-Cast award for best in show, best freshwater and best saltwater rod. This is the second year the Element21 Carrot Stix has been on the market.

So that to me says this is a quality fishing rod. The only problem is that I could not buy a Carrot Stix here in Alberta, so I went on the Internet and found one that way. I sure am glad I have found other ways to buy fishing gear. The rod was 99.99 US and will be on my door step hopefully before the new year. Once I test the rod in a few different fishing situations I will write a review and post it on the Blog.

Hopefully the weather warms up here so I can go slam into some Bow River trouties sooner than later.

    Cheers Ron,

    ~Mike.
